Monaghan United vs. Glencar U-14
The Mons were beaten by the better team on the day as the Donegal team progressed through to the next round of the cup. Glencar played some brilliant football at times with the ball staying on the ground, the Mons found it difficult to take the ball of the Donegal boys. Glencar took the lead midway through the first half, from a corner the ball was deflected into the Monaghan net. Monaghan tried to play football but often found themselves going long because of the strong midfield presence Glencar had. The second half brought Monaghan’s best spell of pressure. But they failed to convert and Glencar finished off the game with a well worked second goal. Well played to both teams in what was a thrilling encounter.
